The DAC Network on Development Evaluation brings together representatives from thirty bilateral and multilateral development agencies. They work together on improving evaluation for more effective development assistance.
DAC work on development evaluation started in 1982 with the creation of an Expert Group which was then replaced by the DAC Working Party on Aid Evaluation. Since March 2003, this work is carried out by the DAC Network on Development Evaluation. The Network provides a forum where evaluation experts and managers from 30 bilateral and multilateral development agencies meet regularly to improve the practice and use of evaluation in development assistance.

The advent of the International Development Evaluation Association (IDEAS), a voluntary, charitable membership based organization, is timely. A new development consensus has emerged, focused on sustained poverty reduction driven by economic growth; the removal of social and structural constraints to economic and human development; reforms that are owned by those who must carry them out; and an intent, especially in the public sector, to manage for results and measure for performance. In parallel, citizens in developing and developed countries alike, expect more efficient, more accountable and more transparent government and public sector programs and projects that have measurably greater development effectiveness than hitherto. Thus there is need to renew old and established evaluation mechanisms to help deliver results to ensure accountability and learn from mistakes.

The society was founded in year 2000. It is a platform for exchange of experience as well as for discussion of evaluation related questions such as: new development within theory and practice; utilisation of evaluation findings; professional development; standards for good evaluation practice.

La (SQÉP) a été fondée en octobre 1988 à Québec. Elle a pour vocation générale de contribuer au développement de l'évaluation et de promouvoir son utilisation dans les organisations publiques et privées, et, aussi au sein des collectivités en charge de l'élaboration et de la mise en oeuvre des politiques publiques.
La SQÉP s'efforce de contribuer au développement de l'évaluation de programme, notamment en encourageant la recherche et le développement en évaluation de programme; de constituer un centre de référence, d'action, d'information et de formation pour les intervenants en évaluation de programme au Québec. C’est un lieu de rassemblement, d'échanges et de formation ouvert à tous les acteurs de l'évaluation des secteurs tant publics que privés. À l'occasion, la Société prend position sur des questions touchant l'évaluation de programme.

Since 1988 the regional evaluation society of Quebec, Canada aims to promote the exchange between people interested in evaluation; to contribute to the development of program evaluation, in particular by encouraging research and development in program evaluation; to constitute a center of reference, action, information and formation for the speakers in program evaluation in Quebec; to discuss questions concerning program evaluation.

TrainEval - Training for Evaluation in Development is an advanced training programme for evaluation in development, which is specifically focused on the European Development Cooperation and the EC evaluation approach. The training course is offered jointly by AGEG Consultants eG and Euronet Consulting EEIG.

Evaluation can be useful, exciting and an important knowledge development tool. This evaluation guide has been developed to help make all these things happen. The goal of this evaluation guide is to provide easy-to-use, comprehensive framework for project evaluation. This framework can be used to strengthen evaluation skills and knowledge to assist in the development and implementation of effective project evaluations.

Established in 1994, ERS specialises in undertaking research and providing consultancy services in the fields of economic development, community development and regeneration. ERS staff have specific interests in a wide range of related issues, including economic impact, enterprise, jobs and training, education, community buildings, crime & community safety, housing and health and arts & culture. Employing a combination of methodologies, ERS has established needs and opportunities, appraised proposals, evaluated projects and programmes, designed strategies and brokered partnership development.

Zunia is a portal of development information. Several groups have been formed which focus on specific aspects of social and economic development. The Monitoring and Evaluation Group is associated with this facet of Zunia, which contains links and descriptions to more than 1400 resources on M&E.

DARA – Development Assistance Research Associates – is an independent, international, non-profit organisation, which works to improve the quality and impact of development and humanitarian interventions. We do this through research, evaluations, promoting learning and knowledge sharing.
