L'Osservatorio per la valutazione del sistema universitario ? un organo istituzionale del Ministero dell'Universit? e della Ricerca Scientifica e Tecnologica con il compito di valutare i risultati relativi all'efficienza ed all'efficacia delle attivit? delle istituzioni universitarie, di verificare i piani di sviluppo e di analizzare lo stato del sistema universitario. L'Osservatorio ? un organo indipendente che interagisce autonomamente con le universit? e il Ministero, risponde al Ministro e riferisce alle competenti Commissioni parlamentari. L'Osservatorio dispone di una segreteria tecnico - amministrativa, di un apposito capitolo di spesa nel bilancio del Ministero e pu? affidare a gruppi di esperti, enti o societ? specializzate lo svolgimento di ricerche e studi. ***** The National University Evaluation Council is an institutional body of the Ministry for Universities and Scientific and Technological Research. Its main functions are to evaluate the efficiency and the effectiveness of the universities' activities, to verify the development plans and to analize the situation of the Italian university system. The Council is an independent body which interacts autonomously with the universities and the Ministry. The Council relates to the Minister and to the relevant parliamentary Commissions. The Council has a technical and administrative secretarial office, it has its own budget and may appoint teams of experts or specialized external bodies the task of specific researches and studies.
