Theory of change is the current buzz-word in development work and M&E. But, what is it all about? This workshop introduces Theory of Change as both a product and a process. We will work through the process. It is very interactive and practical, and you will be able to formulate a theory of change for the case study that you are working on.
Theory of Change is a tool that describes a process of planned change, from the assumptions that guide its design, the planned outputs and outcomes to the long-term impacts it seeks to achieve. Also, see how Theory of Change can be derived from other processes such as logical framework approach.
The objective of this course is to familiarise people with Theory of Change as both a product and a process.
The aim is to increase the capacity of the development sector to deliver project outcomes, to be able to measure and evaluate these outcomes, and utilise learnings for program improvement.
The training course will be run in a workshop style with a high degree of participant involvement. Group work will be interspersed with an input session. Adult learning methodologies will be employed, and participants will not be passive. Debate and discussion will be encouraged.
